Atelier Franck Genser

Suspended overhead like luminous forms caught in midair, Franck Genser's Cloud collection explores the expressive possibilities of blown glass. Much like clouds moving across the sky, no two pendants are exactly alike, with variations in shape, scale, and proportion giving each its own character. Delicately moiré, the glass plays with light and transparency, its surface coming alive when illuminated.

The collection comes in three distinct forms: Cloud Solo, Cloud Canopy, and Cloud Spider. Solo presents the glass pendant as a singular object, while Canopy brings multiple pieces together at varying heights. Spider expands further into the room, with cords radiating from a central ceiling point before descending to individual pendants.

Rather than following a fixed format, Cloud is made to order. For each project, you can specify the number of pendants, their dimensions, glass characteristics, placement, and drop heights, allowing the installation to shift in scale and arrangement to suit the setting.

This flexibility is particularly visible in Cloud Spider, where the suspension becomes part of the design itself. Extending outward from its center, the cords allow the glass forms to be positioned more freely throughout an interior. Cloud Canopy creates a different effect, suspending the pendants directly from above and using variations in height, shape, and scale to establish a natural rhythm.

Designed and made in Franck Genser's Paris atelier, Cloud brings the individuality of the handmade together with the freedom of a fully bespoke lighting collection.

About Franck Genser

Fascinated by the soul of objects and all dimensions of their influence on the individual, Franck Genser founded his creative studio in Paris in 2015. There, he brings together a multidisciplinary team composed of engineers and artisans. To create his furniture pieces, he draws inspiration from his imagination and explores the fields of perception. His creations combine functionality, art, and emotion. An engineer by training and an entrepreneur by passion, Franck Genser also expresses himself in more unexpected fields such as Gestalt therapy.

An approach focused on the constant interaction between the human being and their environment. Form becomes the foremost function, emerging from inspiration without necessarily being tied to a specific use.

Driven by a sensitive aesthetic, Franck Genser does not hesitate to blend different exceptional skills to create a piece. He particularly works with noble materials that will develop a patina over time, such as walnut, parchment, marble, and Japanese lacquer. This unique approach results in objects brimming with emotion. They fit into a heritage perspective, serving as a current and future testimony of our era.
