Among the memorable experiences of Christian Dior’s childhood, Jules Verne’s Around the World in Eighty Days left a deep impression, forging his imagination like a promise of adventure that never faded. Nurtured by Cordelia de Castellane, this literary fascination has sparked a Dior Maison collection, featuring free-spirited and inspired illustrations that poetically revisit the novel’s universe.

A hot-air balloon theme, the central motif of this dreamlike line, takes flight and is transformed over a range of Limoges porcelain pieces: a service comprising six dinner and dessert plates, two oval serving dishes, and a trinket tray. Crafted with great precision, these designs feature Dior’s signature motifs: the CD monogram, the star, the bee, the rose, clover and lily of the valley.

Two finely glazed earthenware trinket trays extend this whimsical exploration, continuing the collaboration with the Manufacture des Émaux de Longwy founded in 1798.
To enhance the soaring vision, each creation is given an evocative name, referencing destinations, eras or delicate symbols – such as Survol au siècle des lumières or Escale du porte-bonheur.
An enthralling voyage, between heaven and earth, where the fantasy journey becomes a way of life.
